Service Commitment

We are committed to providing the best possible service to all our customers.

All sticks have a 60 day manufactures guarantee which covers manufacturing faults. Damage from Argentinean backhand shots, damage to the edges, damage caused by stick on stick contact, chips, scratches, nicks, invisible cracks, un-raveling grip, and cracks in the label, worn stick heel, or loose particles inside the composite interiors and vibration will not be covered. However we will investigate all complaints on a case by case circumstance.

Cricket bats are made from a natural material that has the incredibly hard task of hitting a solid object repeatedly. A small amount of cracking is normal and has no impact on the performance of the bat. Small cracks can usually be sanded out and have been appearing on cricket bats for centuries. Cracking is not a sign of a faulty bat, but an indication your bat requires further knocking in.

A cricket bat is NOT going to look new forever and cracks will appear on the willow.

The lifespan of a bat depends on how much it is used and how well it is taken care of. You should keep your bat out of excessively warm conditions and wet weather. A toe guard/shoe goo should be fitted for extra protection against toe damage.

Warranty for cricket bats will NOT cover the below:

  • Damage caused by dampness and swelling of toe
  • edge and toe cracks caused by inaccurate play
  • heat damage
  • over oiling
  • damage caused by insufficient preparation
  • Inaccurate Play
  • Unprotected Bat
  • Use of bowling machine balls
  • Cheap hard balls
  • Dampness in toe/blade
  • Severe edging
  • Yorkers Hitting toe

Delivery

We endeavor to deliver all products within 1-3 working days of us confirming receipt of the order, although this timeframe is an estimate only and rural deliveries may take longer. If we are not able to supply the products or there is likely to be a significant delay in making delivery (e.g. because the product is out of stock or the delivery is to a rural/remote location*), we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible after we become aware of this. We will not otherwise be liable to you for any damages, costs or expenses of any kind, suffered or incurred by you due to the order not being fulfilled or the products not being delivered within the anticipated delivery time.  All transactions are in New Zealand dollars.

We are able to ship to some International countries.  Please email info@sports-first.co.nz for details.

The anticipated delivery charges (if applicable) will be notified to you when you complete the order, although in some cases the actual delivery charges may be higher (e.g. if the products are large/heavy or delivery is to a rural/remote location). We will notify you if the actual delivery charges are higher than those anticipated, in which case you may cancel the order (or any part of it) prior to delivery and receive a refund (including the applicable delivery charges) in respect of the cancelled order.
